Canicross Greece, the official body for Canicross in Greece, proudly announces the organization of the next Canicross and Bikejoring race that will take place on March 30th in the area of Marathon Lake.
Lake Marathon has one of the unique trails that are ideal under the conditions set by the rules of the World Federation of Canicross, Bikejoring, and Scooter races. It is an easy and particularly friendly route for those who would like to run for the first time, even for small children, to get used to running with their dog and prepare for the Sport category. The terrain is particularly soft, predisposing to run comfortably without fatigue and hardship for the dog. Timing is done normally, as in all Canicross races.
The mountainous area next to the lake offers the ideal setting for a unique race, combining amazing natural beauty with demanding routes that excite both athletes and spectators. The fantastic views and the dynamic topography of the area make Lake Marthon an excellent destination for the development of the sport.
Last year’s event in 2024, attracted a large number of people, including athletes, demonstrating the international scope and growing popularity of Canicross and Bikejoring, from which athletes qualified for participation in the World Championships held in Italy (2024).
This year’s race is always supported by EYDAP, with the aim of strengthening the local community, promoting the natural wealth of the area, but also promoting a healthy and active lifestyle through the cooperation between man and dog.
Interested athletes and teams can register through the official website of Canicross Greece. At the same time, those who love nature and animals are invited to attend the race and experience the sport in person.
This year’s event promises to leave unforgettable memories, while for one more year it will promote the sporting ideal and the cooperation between man and dog.

HOW TO GET THERE
Place in your GPS the coordinates 38.166024, 23.899447 in case you can't come with coordinates you will head from Marathon to Limni and after passing the 150m barrier you will find signs of the event. If you are coming from Ag.Stefanos you will head towards Marathon and 150m before the barrier you will find signs
DOG PASSPORT
You should have with you at all times the dog's booklet with the Microchip number and all necessary vaccinations. This will be requested by the race veterinarian.
EQUIPMENT
Necessary and mandatory equipment for canicross Belt for the waist, Leash (leash) elastic 2m and Harness for the dog and for Bikejoring and scooter helmet and antenna. In the FUN category the equipment is not mandatory. In the FUN category the equipment is not mandatory
START ORDER
The start will be given every 30 seconds. In a special case, such as a large number of participants, the start will be given every 15 seconds. There will be a table with the starting time of each athlete which must be respected. The starting order will be the order of registration for the race.

ATTENTION: • You must have the appropriate equipment with you for dealing with cold or rain. – The action is cancelled in case of temperature increase if it is above 20°C and below -2°C. The event is canceled in case of registration of less than 15 people. • In case of rain or snowfall before or during the race, the event takes place normally. • If rain and snow precede the event by days, there will be continuous announcements with email and social media posts about the track conditions.

The race area belongs to EYDAP.
For safety reasons the PARKING of cars will be outside the Lake area as usual. There will be signage for your direction to the lake

FUN 2,8K SPECIFICATIONS

Participation in the FUN section is FREE and open to individuals aged 7 and above, alone or with a companion, meeting all the necessary requirements according to the regulations. It meets all the requirements according to the regulations. The route is 2.8km circular with a difficulty level of 1 (max.5) and the athletes finish where they started. It is an easy and particularly friendly route for those running for the first time, getting accustomed to running with their dogs. SPORT 5Κ SPECIFICATIONS

The SPORT section has all the necessary requirements according to the regulations. The route is circular 4km-4,5 with a difficulty level of 2 (max. 5) and the athletes finish where they started. It is an easy and particularly friendly route for those running for the first time, getting accustomed to running with their dogs. Timing is done normally, as in all Canicross races. Mandatory equipment for SPORT includes the Belt (waist belt), an elastic Leash (2m), and a Harness for the dog.

The athletes of the Greek Canicross Team participate for FREE in any part of the race
