Canicross Greece, the official body for Canicross in Greece, proudly announces the organization of the next Canicross and Bikejoring race that will take place on February 23rd in the area of Oraiokastro, Thessaloniki.
The mountainous area of Oraiokastro offers the ideal setting for a unique race, combining amazing natural beauty with demanding routes that excite both athletes and spectators. The fantastic views and the dynamic topography of the area make Oraiokastro an excellent destination for the development of the sport.
Last year’s event in 2024, despite the adverse weather conditions, attracted a large number of participants, including athletes from neighboring Bulgaria, proving the international scope and the growing popularity of Canicross and Bikejoring in the wider region.
This year’s race is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Oraiokastro, aiming to strengthen the local community, promote the natural wealth of the area, but also to promote a healthy and active lifestyle through the cooperation between man and dog. The race will count towards qualifying athletes for the World Championships in the Czech Republic in October 2025
Interested athletes and teams can register through the official website of Canicross Greece. At the same time, those who love nature and animals are invited to attend the race and experience the sport in person.
This year’s event promises to leave unforgettable memories, while for one more year it will promote the sporting ideal and the cooperation between man and dog.
Come and experience Canicross and Bikejoring and enjoy a unique sporting celebration in the magnificent mountainous area of Oraiokastro.

HOW TO GET THERE
Place in your GPS the coordinates 40.733209, 22.903572, in case you can not come with coordinates you will head west of the field Oraiokastro (forest road extension Alexandros Ypsilanti from the KEP)
DOG PASSPORT
You should have with you at all times the dog's booklet with the Microchip number and all necessary vaccinations. This will be requested by the race veterinarian.
EQUIPMENT
Necessary and mandatory equipment for canicross Belt for the waist, Leash (leash) elastic 2m and Harness for the dog and for Bikejoring and scooter helmet and antenna. In the FUN category the equipment is not mandatory. In the FUN category the equipment is not mandatory
START ORDER
The start will be given every 30 seconds. In a special case, such as a large number of participants, the start will be given every 15 seconds. There will be a table with the starting time of each athlete which must be respected. The starting order will be the order of registration for the race.

FUN 2,5κ
Participation in the FUN section is FREE and open to individuals aged 7 and above, alone or with a companion, meeting all the necessary requirements according to the regulations. It meets all the requirements according to the regulations. The route is a circular 2.5km with a difficulty level of 1 (max 5), and athletes finish where they started. It is an easy and particularly friendly route for those running for the first time, getting accustomed to running with their dogs. The terrain is particularly soft, predisposing to run comfortably without fatigue and hardship for the dog. Timing is done normally, as in all Canicross races.

COST OF PARTICIPATION FOR THE FUN CATEGORY: FREE OF CHARGE
(Participation includes: Medal for the first 3 times and a commemorative commendation for the rest of the participants.)

Η εκκίνηση θα δίνεται ανά 30" για καθε αθλητή. Σε ειδική περίπτωση όπως μεγαλη συμμετοχών η εκκίνηση θα δοθεί ανα 15".Σε ειδική περίπτωση όπως μεγαλη συμμετοχών η εκκίνηση θα δοθεί ανα 15". Θα αναρτηθεί πίνακας με την ώρα εκκίνηση κάθε αθλητή ο οποίος θα πρέπει να τηρηθεί. Η σειρά εκκίνησης θα είναι η σειρά εγγραφής στον αγώνα.

The SPORT section has all the necessary requirements according to the regulations. The route is a 4.6km circuit with a difficulty level of 2 (max. 5) and the athletes finish where they started. It is an easy and particularly friendly route for those running for the first time, getting accustomed to running with their dogs. Timing is done normally, as in all Canicross races. Necessary and mandatory equipment Belt for the waist, Leash elastic 2m and Harness for the dog . Athletes who bring a time under 5 pace, qualify for the World Championships in CZECH REPUBLIC in 2025
